"I was scared my rapist would retaliate if I reported him. He said he would kill me if I called the police. I didn't know what to do to feel safe. I called a rape crisis center. After I talked with the counselor, I realized that I wouldn't be safer if I kept my silence. The counselor went with me when I made the police report. The police department helped me make a safety plan. I later found out that the rapist who attacked me had assaulted five other women."
