"When I was raped, I told my friends, but at first I didn't want to deal with the police. I had a lot of questions -- How will they treat me? Will they believe me? Will they blame me? I thought that most rapists were strangers and street criminals. I knew the guy who raped me. I had gone on a date with him. I thought it was my fault. I felt humiliated and ashamed. But I was so upset, I had to do something. I finally decided to call the police. The officer who came to talk to me told me that rape is never the victim's fault. She told me that most rapes are committed by someone the victim knows."
