Medical Care Following a Sexual Assault is a 12-page booklet that answers many of the questions sexual assault victims commonly ask about medical care, physical evidence, the risks of sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy, and effective treatment options. The "time sensitive" issues related to these options are discussed.
The booklet also encourages students who have been sexually assaulted to get medical care as soon as possible to deal with the health impacts of victimization.
This is an excellent resource for campus student health and counseling centers, victim advocates, police departments, physicians, hospitals, medical clinics, and other providers of victim services.
